fate/stay night unlimited blade works patch leaked?

Right. So I just had an urge to rant about this particular issue because its timing was so spectacular in the fact that it struck when I was in a fairly contemplative mood. I’m probably dragging this out to be a bigger issue than I had initially thought it to be, but it’s just the morals of the whole situation that tugged on my mental strings.

The initiation of an ambitious project is no trifling matter, for it is something that needs to be thought through wholly, and that attitude complimented by absolute attentiveness, sparing no possibility and/or outcome that could potentially arise from one’s actions; you had best be prepared anything, and that includes criticism, threats, whining, hate mail - you name it, unless you enjoy feeling crushed by the compelling traits of human behavior. You are bound (willingly or unwillingly is irrelevant to the matter of choice) by your newly-acquired obligations to others; no matter the case, the moment you announce the undertaking of whatever act of charitable nature, you are hereby venturing into a world that others do not wish to burden themselves with, and subsequently you instill hope in the hearts of people; in fact this rule applies not only to the Internet, but to society and generally everything. It doesn’t matter if the services you are offering are free of charge, it doesn’t matter how many hours you put into your work; at the end of the day, people will grow restless because of the numerous delays, setbacks or general faults which can be attributed to whatever reason - it doesn’t matter.

In this particular case, it superficially seemed like the pursuit of an as-perfect-as-it-gets work, or perhaps in the eyes of others, the desire to feed off the anticipation of the audience. It’s an all too familiar scene which I’ve witnessed many, many times in the communication highway that is the Internet, and a stopping point does not appear to be anywhere in sight; in other words, people will continue to repeat their wrongdoings over and over again as their shortcomings close in without notice, but as expected. I guess the rule “the difference between humans and animals is that humans are supposed to learn from their mistakes” isn’t completely applicable here, especially considering some of the unfortunate folks that have gotten themselves winded up in this predicament as a result of their hard work, thus the blame itself cannot possibly be put onto the entire team, as that is just unfair. It would seem like my daily visit to the following website has unearthed some very interesting details. The events have no doubt generated an alarming amount of controversy in the short time they’ve been publicised.

Whatever the case is, I guess mirror moon’s (the folks responsible for Fate/stay night’s translation) primary translator TakaJun has been thoroughly disheartened by a leaked version of the UBW English patch which was comprised of a largely unedited and unfinalised script, which he himself states he’s ashamed of. The fact of matter is that the installer’s tester Message took way too long to get the job done, and as I’d like to sugarcoat my words, this is the truth. I know it sounds harsh, but that is from a completely impartial perspective, and there’s no other way to explain it to the point; what I’ve stated is what is, what happened, and what became; if you’ve been following the scene, you’d know what I’m talking about. It is the reality of the situation.

I’m not too bothered myself about the amount of time that’s passed for the installer release, but I can at least empathise with others who have been patiently waiting for months, and I can see why they are unhappy about the situation. The underlying sentiments we have here are related to the hope people have been given, yet disappointed because of the lack of progress. However, I feel much worse for TakaJun.

Personally I love their hard work and am honestly grateful to them for it, thus I give my condolences for this unfavourable outcome. I doubt anybody who’s related to the scene will hear my tiny voice as I’m just another small fry in the great e-sea; but don’t lose hope, TakaJun (and to all those who are involved in the translation process’s various steps), and don’t be pulled downed by circumstances that weren’t entirely under your control, because it’s not your fault, as those that know it best are the ones that matter. No matter what your decision is, know that at least the no-name scrub that is myself is supporting you.
